Production remains paused in accordance with the New York State executive order. Team members are safe, protecting themselves and those around them. Those who are able to work from home continue to design and develop and service customer needs.
Once we established that our team members were out of harm's way, we sought out ways to help our neighbors:
We produced small batches of hand sanitizers to distribute to front liners that continue to daily serve our community, such as mail carriers and package couriers. This is our formulation based on FDA guidelines but with the addition of classic, antibacterial essential oils:
80% organic cane alcohol
14% purified ionized alkaline water
3% hydrogen peroxide
1.5% vegetable glycerin
1.5% organic lemongrass, clary sage, turmeric CO2, bay, vetiver, cardamom, tea tree
Made in New York, as always.
The NYC grassroots organization connected us with nurses from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center who were seeking help from skin irritation due to extended mask wearing. We donated our nourishing organic jojoba oil to help with bouts of dry skin. This material is hydrating and full of antioxidants and vitamins E and B.
Woman To Woman
Through this Food Bank For New York City initiative, we provided soap to women living in poverty, making impossible choices during this crisis.
Food Bank For New York City
Through the patronage of our Joya customers, 20% of online purchases continue to be donated to assist our most vulnerable neighbors. This promotion has been extended to April 30, 2020.
Communication is vital, and it's important to check on friends and neighbors now more than ever. Let others know they are not alone. Reach out. Write a letter.
We appreciate your kindness and are doing our best to help and be kind as well.
