Year of the The Tiger Set Limited Edition
2022 represents the Year of the Tiger: strength, courage and withstanding evil. At Joya, we feel it takes bravery to remain vulnerable, to view the world undone–through a child’s eye.
This limited edition range of five scents captures the movement of a year, the diaspora of our most ordinary moments (an orange from a fruit stand…a puff of powder clouding your steamy bathroom) colliding with the most eventful (a summer night on the roof, a blood moon stretched out, almost reaching for you)–and wraps those into small experiences…These candles can be savored or last for one long night! They can also be layered for the complete effect.
Bright Spot (Blue) : blueberry, blackberry, quince, gooseberry, goji berry, sweet balsam, fir needle and baby peach
Moon Balm (Grey) : black currant, bamboo, gardenia, hyacinth, oak and cut grass
Wild Powder (White) : dekopon (Sumo citrus), pomegranate, juniper, laurel, pink pepper and wild ginger
Grass Torch (Black) : patchouli, sandalwood, driftwood, vetiver, suede and cannabis leaf
Summer Jam (Pink) : amber, allspice, bay, cypress, Cedarwood Virginia, olibanum, rose apple and lemon zest
Repurposed in mini-porcelain vessels, we recommend burning these candles for no more than 2 hours at a time.
Net Weight: 3.2 oz
Approximate Burn Time: 12 hours
Each porcelain container is cast by hand at our studio, and each candle is poured by hand in the same location upstairs.
– Trim wicks to 1/4" before lighting
– Burn candle for no less than 1 hour and no more than 2 hours at a time. This prevents wax tunneling
– Discontinue use when 1/2" of wax remain
Once your candle is finished and the vessel is ready to be repurposed, we recommend using a dry tissue, towel or rag by hand to wipe off any soot (carbon) that may have accumulated on the inside of the container. You should discard this tissue or rag, so using a dish brush is not advisable. After this process—once the soot has been removed—a hand-wash in soapy water to remove last elements of excess should do the trick. For any stubborn pieces of wax remaining, leaving the container in a freezer overnight usually encourages the wax to shrink and ultimately pop out. Metal wick stabilizers should also pop out without issue.
